Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups Italian herb breadcrumbs
- 1 and 1/3 cups finely grated Parmesan
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 kg mozzarella or suluguni cheese, cut into 56 bars approximately 1.5 cm thick.
- 4 large eggs (beaten beforehand)
- 1.5 cups vegetable oil
- 4 cups marinara sauce (see recipe) Here)
Preparation:
- Mix in a medium bowl breadcrumbs, 1 tbsp. parmesan and 1 tsp. salt.
- Dip the cheese sticks in the eggs and let the eggs drain slightly back into the bowl. Roll the cheese sticks in the breadcrumb mixture. Place the sticks on a baking sheet.
- After a while, dip them again in the beaten eggs and breadcrumb mixture. Cover and place in the freezer for 2 hours. This is to prevent the cheese from melting during frying.
- Once the sticks are frozen, you can begin preparing them further.
To do this you need to: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the cheese sticks until golden brown, about 1 minute per side. Transfer the sticks to a plate and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Serve with marinara sauce.
