Hot Hawaiian BBQ Sauce topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 0.5 cups canned pineapple chunks (with liquid)
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup store-bought barbecue sauce (such as Uncle Ben's)
- 1/4 cup gochujang paste
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
Preparation:
- Place the pineapple and plenty of coarsely ground black pepper in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the pineapple begins to bubble and begins to brown slightly, about 20 minutes.
- Add the barbecue sauce, gochujang, and vinegar and stir. If the sauce is too thin, simmer until it thickens; if it is too thick, add a little water, no more than 1/4 cup.
- Let the sauce cool to room temperature and add cilantro.
