Ingredients:
Smoothie
- 1 and 1/4 cups plain yogurt
- 1 cup tightly packed fresh basil leaves
- 1.5 cups lemon syrup
- 1 cup of ice
Simple lemon syrup
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1.5 tsp lemon zest
Preparation:
- Combine yogurt, basil, lemon zest, and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses and serve immediately.
- Lemon syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and lemon zest. Bring to a boil over medium heat, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool for about 20 minutes. Strain before using.
