Mashed potatoes with sour milk

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of yellow potatoes
  • 1 cup of sour milk or kefir
  • 110 g butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Preparation:

  1. Place the potatoes in a medium saucepan, cover with cold water, and add 2 tablespoons of salt. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook, uncovered, until tender, about 45 minutes. Drain.
  2. Peel the potatoes and return them to the pan (for smoother mashed potatoes, press them through a potato masher or vegetable grinder after peeling). Using a fork or potato masher, mash the potatoes with the butter and sour milk. Season with 2 tablespoons of salt and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Sprinkle with green onions.
