Grape granita with black currant

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 0.5 cup blackcurrant juice
  • 0.5 cups of sugar
  • 1.5 cups Concord grape juice

Preparation:

  1. Combine the currant juice and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves, about 4 minutes. Pour into an 8-inch (20 cm) square stainless steel or glass baking dish and let cool completely; stir in the grape juice.
  2. Freeze until ice crystals begin to form around the edges, about 45 minutes. Scrape the crystals toward the center of the pan with a fork and continue freezing, scraping every 30 minutes, until the granita is set, about 4 hours.
