Umami seasoning

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 tsp porcini mushroom powder
  • 2 tsp. champignon powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme

Preparation:

  1. Combine the mushroom powders, onion powder, chili flakes, mustard powder, thyme, 2 teaspoons salt, and 0.5 teaspoon black pepper in a small bowl. Transfer to an airtight container. The umami seasoning can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 months.
  2. Mac and cheese:

    Add 1 tablespoon umami seasoning to store-bought cheese sauce before tossing it with the pasta.

    Popcorn:

    Microwave a 100g bag of natural-flavored popcorn. Drizzle with 1 tbsp olive oil and sprinkle with 1 tsp umami seasoning.
