Quick Tostones with Garlic Sauce

Ingredients:

  • One package (540 g) of thawed tostones (fried plantains)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Preparation:

  1. Combine 2 cloves garlic in a food processor with 1/4 cup olive oil. Add 1 chopped green onion, 2 tablespoons white vinegar, and 1/4 teaspoon each cumin seeds and red pepper flakes; pulse. Fry 1 package (18 oz) of thawed tostones in vegetable oil until golden brown and crisp, 2 to 4 minutes per side.
  2. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil and season with salt. Serve with garlic sauce.
