Ingredients:
- 0.5 cups whole milk
- 1.5 tsp. unflavored gelatin powder
- 1.5 cups heavy cream
- 3 heaping teaspoons of instant espresso powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 1 small bar of white chocolate, for decoration
- 1 small bar of dark chocolate, for decoration
Preparation:
- Pour the milk into a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add the gelatin and let it sit for 5 minutes to soften. Stir over medium heat until the gelatin dissolves, but don't let the milk boil—about 2 minutes.
- Add the cream, espresso powder, sugar, and salt. Stir over low heat until the sugar dissolves, about 3 minutes more. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Pour the creamy mixture evenly into 2 martini glasses. Cover and refrigerate. Stir every 20 minutes for the first hour. Refrigerate until completely set, at least 6 hours and up to 2 days.
- When you are ready to serveUsing a vegetable peeler, grate the chocolate bars until you have about 1 tablespoon of white and dark chocolate shavings. Sprinkle each panna cotta with chocolate shavings and serve.
