Boiled peanuts

Ingredients:

  • 1 - 1.3 kg fresh raw peanuts
  • 1.5 cups of salt

Preparation:

  1. Combine the peanuts and salt in a large saucepan. Cover completely with water. Bring to a boil and simmer for at least 1 hour and up to 3 hours.
  2. To check if peanuts are readyRemove one from the pan and crack it open. If they're soft, they're ready. If they're still slightly crunchy, they're not ready yet. If they haven't been salted enough, let them sit in some salted water and turn off the heat. Drain thoroughly before serving.
