Bandekha paisa

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups red beans (such as kidney beans)
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 2 green plantains, diced
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1 pig's hoof
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

Preparation:

  1. Rinse the beans before cooking, then place them in a pressure cooker half-filled with water and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Cook the beans for about 30 minutes. Then open the pressure cooker and add the remaining ingredients. Cook for another 20 minutes and serve with the pork knuckle or on its own.

    Serving options


    Bandeha paisa can be served with 220 grams of grilled beef steak, steamed white rice, fried sweet plantains, fried pork rind, a fried egg on top of the rice, and a corn tortilla. The rice should be in the center of the plate, and the beans on the left side. The remaining ingredients can be arranged on the plate as desired.
