Punch "Witch's Potion"

Ingredients:

  • 8 Iranian cucumbers, chopped
  • 2 jalapeño peppers (remove seeds to reduce heat), chopped
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp + 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice (from about 10 limes)
  • 1 teaspoon ancho chili powder
  • 2 cups lemon-lime sparkling water
  • Gummy eyes or worms, for serving

Preparation:

  1. In a blender, puree the cucumbers, jalapeño, sugar, and 1 cup of water until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher. Add 1 cup of lime juice and stir. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  2. Pour the remaining 2 tablespoons of lime juice onto a plate. Mix 2 tablespoons of salt and chili powder on another plate. Dip 8 glasses, rimmed, in the lime juice, then in the spice mixture. Fill the glasses with ice.
  3. Pour the soda into a pitcher and stir, then pour the punch into glasses. Garnish each serving with gummy eyes or worms.

    Note


    For an adult punch, use gin instead of soda. Just add a splash of soda to sweeten the drink.
