Baked Fig Sunday

Ingredients:

  • 16 fresh figs, halved
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 1 tbsp chopped butter
  • Vanilla ice cream

Preparation:

  1. In a shallow baking dish, combine fig halves with 1/2 cup chopped pecans, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon each of honey, lemon juice, and water. Top with pats of butter. Bake at 425°F (220°C) until the figs release their juices, about 20 minutes. Pour the juices over the figs, then continue baking until syrupy, about 10 minutes more. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
